Whatever Happened to Graciousness?

In a previous post, I wrote about my disgust with the lack of emotional support from the rest of the world, (namely, US ALLIES). I'm still disgusted. Actually, I'm more than disgusted now. Of course, now they are offering their help, but instead of just lending a hand or a shoulder out of respect for us, they must criticize and comment. Of course, they have the right to do that, but it seems to me that the help they offer is given without the desire to help. It is given because it would look bad if they didn't.
Where did benevolence go? When the bombings took place in London, we were there, helping with our money and our manpower. Where is England now? When the Tsunami hit Asia, we were there with our money, manpower and the pocketbooks of most of middle class America. Where is Asia now?
Instead of criticizing the US, I would like to rephrase the comments of Mayor Nagin of New Orleans. "Why don't they just get off their asses and DO something?"
