Sight Seeing

I ran across some "predictions" for the future the other day and was struck by how many of them are biased toward personal viewpoints. ("one-consciousness", polytheism, UFO phenomena, to name a few). It all seemed a tad off-base for me. I decided to do a search on predictions for 2005, and those that I could find that didn't require my credit card number, were few and far between. That, in itself, spoke volumes. There were few "predictions" that actually held any value for anything, and some of them were downright ludicrous. How people can be so misled is beyond me. Although many may hope such a thing might happen, I really doubt that aliens are going to come down and carry off the President.
We are living in strange and troubled times where the innocent are carried away by the seductive words of the evil one; where those things that we once considered bad are revered and, in many cases, deified, and that which was once considered good is now called "passe", "old-fashioned" and "closed-minded". Personally, I consider myself to be open minded and flexible about many things. However, when it comes to stupid things, such as the above mentioned lunacy, I tend to close up like a clam. It is disheartening, nay, sickening, to watch our great nation fall into this trap of being led so easily. I believe that, as the Bible mentioned about the end times, "Old men will see visions and young men will dream dreams...", therefore, I concede that somewhere, out there, are people who really do have prophetic visions/dreams of the future, but only what God allows them to see, and never for personal gain. After all, God did tell Noah (Nuh) about the flood before it happened. (...and people thought HE was crazy...). Daniel had visions, as did Ezekiel...and Joseph and Moses, and David and...
But they were all for God's greater good. Never were they alien oriented, new age, or ego-centered philosophies. They were meant for us, as the creation, to not only see the power that is God, but to EXPERIENCE it. "Verily! In the creation of the Heavens and the Earth and in the alteration of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding." Al-Imran 190. (Ah, but the important word is "understanding"). For those who close their hearts to God, (La illaha illa Allah--There is no God but God), they do not comprehend the proper signs. Its like a man that is color blind and dyslexic approaching a stop sign. Without the proper knowledge of what that stop sign looks like, he doesn't understand the meaning of it. He assumes an alternate meaning and then keeps traveling upon his current path based on what he "feels" the stop sign means, only to crash his car into another. Those who KNOW what it means, stop.
