Colin, Jess and Georgia

In November of 2002, I left my ex-husband. I couldn't live with him anymore...we didn't get along. However, leaving him meant leaving behind three of the most wonderful gifts God has ever granted a person. I have mentioned my leaving briefly in previous posts, but I have not mentioned the pain that a mother goes through when she must leave her children for whatever reason. And I'm not going to mention it now, because there simply are no words...
I do, however, wish to make a special "Thank You" for Suzii, my cousin, at www.ladyofgrace.blogspot.com for sending on a most beautiful present for me...(it's my early birthday present!) If you will read her post, you will see a glimpse of two of my babies, Jess and Georgia. Colin, pictured at left, is my oldest. At thirteen (going on fourteen, if you please), he is an incredibly well-read kid. Not to pat myself on the back, but I taught him to read at home (I homeschooled him for four years) and tried to instill in him a love of reading. He has read the "Lord of the Rings" by JRR Tolkein and all of the Harry Potters, among such books ranging from Biblical prophesy to the problems with Militant Islam. He can quote more Bible than a Southern Baptist preacher! He is probably going to be a very outspoken evangelist. What a kid!! (My kids do NOT know that I am a Muslim, but I'm sure they soon will, which will be all the worse for me. They do not have a computer, which helps a little...)

At the right is my son, Jess. He will be eleven next month and he is my little jokester. (Probably owing to the fact that his nickname has always been "the Jesster"). He is going to be an actor someday! He was in a children's production at a local theatre in his town; a theatre where I was pianist, actress and singer before I left them. I understand he did quite well, and I have some lovely pictures of him in costume. (I will post them someday when I have a scanner.) It is my opinion that he is going to be a heartbreaker, as he hasn't yet come to the age of "hating" girls yet. I hear that some boys never hate girls. Ah, me! My little Romeo! Doesn't he look like Matt Damon?
The little girl at the left is my little Georgia. (We call her "Georgie"...I call her "George"--she hates that!) She was telling me about a naughty thing she did last night when we talked on the phone, and I told her that I know ALL of her shenanigans because she is just like I was at her age. Nothing will ever get past me with her. This picture doesn't show it, but she is supposed to have glasses, whi

Someday, they will understand. Someday they will know that I didn't leave them because I didn't want them; that I had other reasons. Someday, they will know that I am still their Mommy. Someday...
