When Inanimate Objects Talk to Us
Although Schizophrenia has been rumored in my family, that isn't what I mean by "talking inanimate objects". Actually, I'm speaking about a very real spiritual phenomenon. In various places in the Bible and in the Qu'ran God speaks about certain objects having specific things to say to us. I guess this is one of the reasons why I look for the symbolism in everyday things, because I know that there is a message for me if I will but listen. The Native Americans saw the symbolism/spirituality in everything from the shape of the leaves on the trees to the animals. Where do you suppose they got that notion? But, it's more than just symbolic in some cases. Nowadays, we are proving the verse Luke 19:40. As the disciples of Jesus (pbuh) are praising the glory of God, the Pharisees have ordered Jesus to silence them. "I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." (What do you mean the "stones will cry out?" Stones don't talk.) Indeed, stones DO talk. They speak every time we find another lost artifact that proves the existence of God. There are rocks up on Mt. Ararat right now that are screaming! And the rocks in Sodom and Gomorrah have their own tale to tell, which coincides directly with the accounts of their destruction in Genesis 19 and in Al-Hijr 73-6 (Qu'ran). Archaeologists believe that they have found the cave of Prophet John the Baptist which would in fact, prove HIS existence. The list of talking rocks goes on. Egypt is one big rock with a lot to say about biblical/Qu'ranic truths. After all, they've got Mt. Sinai!
This is one subject that is completely fascinating to me. I am glued to the National Geographic channel quite frequently, which lately has been broadcasting a lot about Egyptian archaeology. It always makes my laugh when I hear the words, "Was (so-and-so/such-and-such) real?" As spiritual people we believe it to be true without the rocks. However, for the non-believers, even the very stones of the earth will describe our spiritual history so completely that try as hard as they might, skeptics will not be able to disprove the Words of God.
