We Gotta Get Outa This Place...

House 3Motel living has finally done us in. We have come to the edge of our tolerant nerve in this place, and it is most definitely time to move into a place of our own before we kill each other. We have begun semi-actively searching for a new place since yesterday, but the pickings are fairly slim within our price range. We have the added disadvantage of not possessing a "Rental History" and will most likely end up by paying a higher deposit and rent. We were a little bothered by this discovery, but what else can we do? Why can't there be a special package for newly immigrated legal aliens to begin their lives with in America? Why can't those who have NO credit history simply be looked upon as not having ruined their credit, therefore, the credit would still be good? I personally understand the "bad credit" issue, but why must my husband be penalized for having NO credit? It makes no sense.
Still, we are not giving up hope, as there is something out there for us, hopefully in a good complex, but we have also considered that we are used to living with junkies and prostitutes, so, even if we would move into a bad area with these types of people, at least we'd have a kitchen. I am, however, shooting for the kitchen that won't be robbed of it's groceries once a month. In my rather claustrophobic opinion, ANYTHING would be better than this tiny motel room, where our dirty dishes sit in a small plastic tub under the bathroom sink. We use a plate on the table as a cutting board, because both of us are somewhat repulsed at the thought of slicing our tomatoes in the same room where we "do our business". We are also looking forward to a closet that doesn't unzip and a refrigerator that is taller than we are. For those of you who have "been there"...it hasn't yet reached the "look back and laugh" stage.
