Yesterday was a horrible day, and I think it has set the tone for the rest of my life.
There was a great family argument over Ahmed and Angele leaving the house & going back to Agamy. Mediha did not like that we were alone together. I got a little too upset out of anger and stress. My biggest mistake was thinking I had no chance before I began. Actually, my thinking was correct--I was a lamb in a pack of wolves--but thinking of it beforehand gave me no strength. I think, basically, that it all boils down to one thing--I am the problem. They had an idea of me before I got here which they (Karim's...family) have not allowed to change. I am the Wicked Witch of the West who has stolen the Egyptian Prince away from his precious castle.
